We have a range of procedures in place to make sure young people involved feel welcome, supported and safe. We have a buddy scheme, student staff and existing volunteers are available for support, and parents/carers are encouraged to join their child when meeting parliamentary candidates. Our host charity, SOS-UK manages our safeguarding, including all young people aged 18+ being required to have DBS check and all under 18s having parental permission to join our online spaces. If you have any concerns or questions regarding the safety and safeguarding of our campaign, please contact the SOS-UK core staff overseeing this.
Yes! Our guidance and resources are available for anyone to access online, as we want as many young people as possible to meet with their local parliamentary candidates. If you work with or support a group of young people, please encourage them to take part by sending them our step-by-step guide and sharing your experience with us.
Of course! We understand that meeting with a politician for the first time can be a scary experience, so you are more than welcome to conduct the meeting with your child if they'd prefer.
