I do not see how you can integrate climate change throughout every subject but although I am not a big fan of Net Zero as the end target. I think this is completely impossible. I think the UK does ok on the global scale to work on preventing climate change. That does not mean we cannot do more but it must be done in a smart way. Trying to win the people over with the climate change argument by pulling silly stunts like Just Stop Oil and the like undertake will further enrage the general public and not get them on side with the genuine people who are trying to o the right thing with regards Climate Change. I am certainly up for a discussion to help me make my own mind up on any vote in Parliament needed regarding climate change legislation.
I think its important to educate on climate change and its impact to the environment. I think however it is equally important that we look at the big polluters in the world like China and such places who against their figures we might as well be net zero now. This is where we need to educate and to teach our young people where to also direct their pressure towards to make this planet better.
I don't think this question is quite right. It's not about supporting all teachers, its about making sure anyone, anywhere has access to this information to make an informed choice around wanting to learn about climate change. As I said in a previous answer teaching climate change issues in every subject is irrelevant. Perhaps it could be bought into humanities subjects like geography and make it part of the curriculum to understand what it is rather than sticking the rhetoric down peoples throats. Its all about being able to make informed choices on such a prominent matter.
Our schools in the most are crumbling that are around 50 to 60 years old. This is not acceptable at all. Of course we need to support schools being upgraded and fit for the 21st century.
I am not against making sure we do our bit for the climate. However Green skills jobs should be taught in job related education the same as any other skill and only to the people who are interest in furthering their career in that sector. I cannot see the benefit of pushing it on anyone who is not interested in that line of work if we have already educated them in school about how the climate works and the impacts of climate change.
