Candidate's Responses

  1. Do you support the integration of climate change throughout every subject?

Yes. Climate issues impact on every aspect of life. The Green Party's policies are all informed with climate in mind. As a former drama teacher, I would take topical issues and integrate them into themes in my scheme of work.
  2. Do you support the teaching on solutions for climate change, as well as the causes and impacts?

Of course. Science has a massive role to play here. We should be encouraging young people to look for solutions and not to be burdened by a sense of hopelessness.
  3. Do they support more training for all teachers around the climate crisis?

Yes. Teachers may need a creative approach to including climate issues across the curriculum.
  4. Do they support more money being spent to upgrade schools so they are carbon neutral?

I support upgrading schools completely. It makes sense that those renovations and new builds should be entirely sustainable.
  5. Do they support more green skills being taught in job-related education?

Yes. There are huge opportunities in sustainable industries.
