Candidate's Responses

  1. Do you support the integration of climate change throughout every subject?

Teaching must relevant and the most logical subjects to teach about the environment are science (biology), geography and perhaps history. So for this reason I support teaching about the environment in only certain subjects where it makes sense to do so and not every subject.
  2. Do you support the teaching on solutions for climate change, as well as the causes and impacts?

Children should be encourage to develop their own solutions to problems and to progress to further/higher education where it might be more suitable for them to learn about possible solutions.
  3. Do they support more training for all teachers around the climate crisis?

I believe there is sufficient training and such training might not be applicable to all teachers, depending on their speciality.
  4. Do they support more money being spent to upgrade schools so they are carbon neutral?

There are many financial issues in school and unfortunately many schools do have existing maintenance issues. School maintenance does need to be prioritised and environmental friendly designs can be looked at when making improvement.
  5. Do they support more green skills being taught in job-related education?

I do encourage litter picking for younger children, and as children grown, they may be introduced to other environmental occupations and technologies such as Carbon Capture.
