Candidate's Responses

  1. Do you support the integration of climate change throughout every subject?

Yes where appropriate. It is essential that young people are aware of the impact of climate change and the causes of it.
  2. Do you support the teaching on solutions for climate change, as well as the causes and impacts?

Absolutely. If we simply present the problems then people are likely to give up. Teaching them that there are answers, often easily accessible, is really important.
  3. Do they support more training for all teachers around the climate crisis?

I support more training being available for all teachers. However I think teachers are the best placed to answer what training they need. Too many problems in education have been caused by central government trying to micromanage education. I trust teachers to know what they need.
  4. Do they support more money being spent to upgrade schools so they are carbon neutral?

Yes. This should come from central government and not from the schools budget.
  5. Do they support more green skills being taught in job-related education?

Yes, this is equipping Britain for the future.
